CityDogs ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and any profile photos you upload. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information from those services.
You may provide information about your dogs, including their name, breed, age, weight, temperament, and photos. This information is shared with other users to facilitate connections.
With your permission, we collect your location to display nearby dogs and users on the map, calculate bark distances, and enable location-based features. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings.
Messages you send through the app (including direct messages and bark group chats) are stored on our servers (Supabase) to deliver them to other users and maintain your conversation history.
If you enable push notifications, we store your device's push notification token to send you alerts about new barks, messages, and bark responses.

Your profile information, dog profiles, and barks are visible to other CityDogs users. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the app (e.g., Supabase for data storage, Expo for push notifications).
Your data is stored securely using Supabase's infrastructure. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

When you request account deletion, your account is scheduled for permanent deletion after a 21-day grace period. During this period, your profile, messages, and conversation history remain intact to protect other users who may have relied on your services (e.g., dog walking or dog sitting). You can cancel the deletion at any time by logging back in. After 21 days, all your data is permanently deleted from our servers.
CityDogs is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app.
